These are the 10 restaurants, bakeries and tearooms in St. Moritz I have eaten at myself and would recommend.
The little stube tucked away inside Grace La Margna, the Art Nouveau hotel from 1907 above the lake, serving Engadine classics like cheese fondue, rösti with alpine herbs and Zurich-style veal. Fondue!

The Swiss restaurant at Suvretta House, the grand hotel at the foot of the Suvretta slopes just outside the village, serving dishes like fondue and raclette. I had the panzanella and the veal sausage with fries. Everything was good, especially their chocolate ice cream – the best I had this trip.

The Kulm Hotel’s cosy chalet-style restaurant at the entrance to Kulm Park, all woodwork inside and a big sun terrace outside, serving Swiss specialities for lunch and dinner. Fondue! Plus the air-dried beef, and crème brûlée for dessert.

Suvretta House’s mountain restaurant, right by the Suvretta chairlift up into the Corviglia ski and hiking area, with rustic dishes at lunch and more refined ones in the evening. It’s in the Michelin Guide. I had the veal Zurich style. It wasn’t bad, but not as good as the ones in Zurich.

The pizzeria up in the hayloft of Chesa Veglia, a farmhouse built in 1658 that’s one of the oldest buildings in St. Moritz and is now run by Badrutt’s Palace, with pizzas from the wood-fired oven. I had the diavola.

The pizzeria at the Kulm Hotel, which opened in 1856 as the first hotel in St. Moritz and is where winter tourism began. I had the diavola. It was good but not exceptional.

One of the restaurants at Grace La Margna, the Art Nouveau hotel from 1907 that reopened in 2023 as the first new five-star hotel in St. Moritz in over 50 years, with a menu of Mediterranean dishes. I ordered a mixed salad and the lobster linguine.

A casual Italian place on Via Veglia in the village that opened in December 2018 in an old shoemaker’s workshop, and it’s named after the last bite of bread you use to mop up the sauce. It got a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2025. I had the tomato salad and the tagliolini with truffles, which was very good. The place is casual and the service is super friendly.

The confiserie on Via Maistra that Fritz Hanselmann opened in 1894, behind one of the finest sgraffito façades in the region, and still run by the same family four generations later. It’s known for its Engadine nut tart and pralines.

Afternoon tea at the Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina, five minutes from St. Moritz, a neo-Baroque grand hotel dating back to 1848. Tea is served every day, with the grand piano playing.
