A Russian restaurant on Malaya Morskaya laid out like a nineteenth-century writer's apartment, across a dining room, a sitting room, a room with a piano and a study. Traditional Russian dishes in a lovely old setting.

A restaurant on Stolyarny Pereulok in Admiralteysky cooking northern Russian food — venison, reindeer tartare, Arctic char — in an apartment-like room with a fireplace. Delicious Russian food in a lovely setting.

A café and restaurant on Malaya Morskaya, with a patisserie on the ground floor and the dining room above. Cute little casual restaurant in Saint Petersburg. Great for a short break from the sightseeing.

A pyshki counter on Bolshaya Konyushennaya, open since 1958 and still frying its ring doughnuts to the old recipe, with coffee and tea to go with them. The Soviet-era feel is part of it.

A chain of Russian pie shops whose speciality is the pirog, a large baked pie. The meat one is the classic.
