These are the six restaurants in Edinburgh I have eaten at myself and would recommend.
Delicious modern Scottish food in a cosy setting.

Great food using seasonal produce. Scottish modern dishes with an Asian touch.
Address: 267 Canongate, Edinburgh EH8 8BQ, United Kingdom
The all-day restaurant at Gleneagles Townhouse on St Andrew Square, running from breakfast through to evening cocktails. Really beautiful and grand interiors.
Address: 39 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh EH2 2AD, United Kingdom
Neil Forbes's bistro down a lane off Thistle Street, with a daily-changing menu built on Scottish produce. Very good simple food in a lovely setting.
Address: 34 Thistle Street North West Lane, Edinburgh EH2 1EA, United Kingdom
Roberta Hall-McCarron's all-day cafe, bar and bottle shop on Bonnington Road in Leith, from the team behind The Little Chartroom. My favourite meal in Edinburgh. Really enjoyed the food, especially the mussels.
Address: 10-12 Bonnington Road, Edinburgh EH6 5JD, United Kingdom
A grand Victorian bar and oyster restaurant off Princes Street, known for its tilework as much as its seafood. Felt like a traditional pub but had decent food.
Address: 19 West Register Street, Edinburgh EH2 2AA, United Kingdom
