Where to eat in Santiago

3 places I recommend

These are the three restaurants and ice cream shops in Santiago I have eaten at myself and would recommend.

The Las Condes branch of Confitería Torres, which opened back in 1879 and is where the barros luco sandwich was born – grilled beef with melted cheese, named after President Ramón Barros Luco who always ordered it. The original is still on the Alameda in the centre but this one is on Isidora Goyenechea.

Address: Isidora Goyenechea 2962, Las Condes, Santiago, Chile

$$$$· 4.5 Google (502)

A seafood restaurant that Jorge “Coco” Pacheco opened in 1975, with his daughter Francisca now running the kitchen. When I went it was still in its old house on La Concepción in Providencia but it has since moved to Nueva Costanera in Vitacura, and king crab, oysters and sea bass are what it’s known for.

Address: Av. Nueva Costanera 3960, Vitacura, Santiago, Chile
