On the ground floor of the Hotel National on Mokhovaya, a block from the Kremlin. Really lovely place with views of the Kremlin.

Cute little place made to look like someone's living room. You'll also notice a lady in a bath robe with a mop running around. Another fixture is the house cat who really doesn't care about anything and just sleeps most of the time.

two minutes' walk from the Bolshoi theatre and open late this is a great place for a meal after a Ballet. Modern Russian food in a modern posh setting.

A Russian restaurant in a three-storey mansion on a lane of Moscow's old Mint quarter, cooking there for more than twenty years. Delicious local food, especially my favourite beef stroganoff.
