Established in 1700, Café Tomaselli is one of Austria's oldest coffee houses and a cornerstone of Salzburg's Old Town on the Alter Markt. Wood-panelled rooms and a famed cake trolley invite you to linger over a Melange and Viennese pastries, much as Mozart's family once did. Everyone loves apple strudel, but my favourite is the poppy seed strudel. The one at Tomaselli is definitely worth it, with a nice hot chocolate on the side.
